If you are a parent/carer raising a child with a neurological condition, brain injury or illness, parents connect is a place to share and learn from other families and talk about your experiences, with some special guests.

Join us at Aspendale Gardens Community Service, facilitated by Brainwave, for:

  • A chance to connect with other families with shared experiences;

  • Special guests: massage students, nutritionist, mindfulness coach and more;

  • Bring your little ones as we have access to the secured outdoor play area, kids’ toys and activities;

  • Tea, Coffee and light refreshments provided; and,

  • Free for Brainwave families OR free membership to Brainwave upon registration.

Registered Brainwave families are invited to come and explore Taronga Zoo with us and enjoy some time together as a family.

From African lions to Australia's kangaroos, take your time to wander around and then join us for lunch on the lawn for Brainwave families. BYO lunch, and we’ll have some coffee and ice cream vouchers.

Family Day - Melbourne

Join us for school holiday fun for the whole family at The Big Goose, nestled in the heart of the beautiful Mornington Peninsula countryside, only 40 minutes south from Melbourne City.

Registered Brainwave families are invited to have some fun at The Big Goose with us and enjoy some time together as a family.

Explore the farm yard, enjoy tractor rides, playgrounds, native animals, a reptile show and much more. We’ll have the shed to have lunch, meet other families and take rest.

The Big Goose will be open to the general public, but Brainwave staff and volunteers will be there to support you.

Come and visit us at the Source Kids Expo in Sydney on 25-26th March at the International Convention Centre, Darling Harbour in Sydney.

With over 150 disability product and service providers under the one roof for two days ne roof for two days; you’ll find information and be able to speak to providers supporting families of children with a range of disabilities including Autism (ASD) and sensory issues .

Entry is free, but tickets are essential.

They also have some helpful sensory information on their website as well regarding some additional elements they have implemented at the expo, even including sensory headsets for loan at the entrance. Make sure you visit the website for more info to plan your visit.

Brainwave Kids Book Club - November 2022

Our Brainwave Kids Book Club runs on the first Wednesday afternoon of each month, and we always have a lot of fun. Our book club is led by some fantastic Ferrero volunteers, who are always full of energy and laughter. They make the club enjoyable for the participants, and many people come back month after month after experiencing their first session.

If you haven't joined us online before, we'd love to have you. You can log in to the live session wherever it suits your family, and we hope to see you online with us in November!

Join us on Thursday the 13th of October for a special live panel session with two incredible humans: Melanie Dimmitt and Lowri Williams - Hire Up (Community Engagement Manager). This is an invaluable opportunity to hear from people with lived experience AND experience developing sustainable working relationships within the NDIS.

We will focus on tips and tricks to help you build a fantastic support team; we'll explore the ins and outs of engaging support staff, what questions to ask, what your rights and responsibilities are, where to find staff, how to manage expectations, and so much more.

Our monthly book club for September is fast approaching! If you haven't joined us online before, we'd love to have you. Our kids' book clubs are led by Ferrero volunteers. They are lively, engaging and filled with laughter and most people return monthly after experiencing their first one.
