We are delighted to announce the Brainwave Sydney Gala 2018 raised a net total of $113,110!!
Over two hundred Sydney donors came together at the 2018 Annual Fundraising Gala at Doltone House Hyde Park. Guests arrived and made their way to the Louis Roederer Champagne Bar where the fundraising began! It wasn’t long before The Tim Campbell Band took to the stage to open the show and got everyone excited for an exceptional evening!
We were welcomed by this year’s Sydney Gala host, Walkley Award-winner, Steve Pennells from Channel 7. He reminded everyone about the importance of the event; to raise funds so Brainwave can continue to support families impacted by neurological conditions. Brainwave Chairman Trent Brooks, also greeted guests and introduced Brainwave’s corporate partners. Prakash Monteiro, Business Development Manager from Mercedes-Benz shared his commitment to Brainwave and we also heard from David Bacon from The QBE Foundation who echoed their support. Dr Deepak Gill from The Children's Hospital at Westmead shared first hand stories from the Neurology Ward demonstrating again the important work that Brainwave does to support families at a difficult time.
Doltone House provided the three-course meal which was enjoyed by all, especially the opulent Belgium chocolate fondant dessert. Long standing Brainwave patron Shawn Cosgrove did an incredible job as live auction bids were thrown around, assisted by Sydney-sider Andrew Morello. We were overwhelmed by the forty-three individual bidders who participated in the equipment and therapy live auction, all helping to fund much needed items for Brainwave families. The amazing volunteers from QBE, Ferrero and CBA all generously donated their time to ensure all guests had many opportunities to donate and facilitated the transactions enabling the fabulous fundraising total to be reached.
The silent auction looked astonishing thanks to JC Display and we must thank Funktionality for their glowing - literally glowing Champagne Bar which flowed Champagne all night whilst contributing to the fundraising total. The Tim Campbell Band returned later in the evening to go out with a bang and shake up the dance floor!
We are absolutely thrilled with the result, and appreciate the efforts of all those involved, from the generous donors on the night through to the organisations that donated items for the event which contributed to the fundraising.
Thank you to all who attended including the wonderful representation from the Mercedes-Benz dealer network; Mercedes-Benz G Brothers, North-Shore, Parramatta, Peter Warren and Macarthur Automotive and Sydney. Thanks to you, we can continue to support over 800 families and make a positive difference to the lives of the children Brainwave supports.
